Centripetal Force and Geology Records are incredibly excited to announce There is Wonder Here, the new collaborative album from legendary pedal steel guitarist BJ Cole and Secondson, arriving September 18.
For more than five decades, BJ Cole has expanded the possibilities of the pedal steel through collaborations with artists including Brian Eno, Björk, David Sylvian, John Cale, R.E.M., and The Orb. On There is Wonder Here, he joins Secondson’s haunting Cristal Baschet, a rare acoustic instrument whose shimmering voice creates a sound unlike anything else.
The album’s first reveal, “A Place You Could Never Leave,” is streaming everywhere today. It’s a beautiful introduction to the record, revealing how these two instruments both complement and challenge one another, creating a conversation that is equal parts intimate, cinematic, and deeply immersive.
